Impartiality Policy
Encourages a professional atmosphere and a culture that upholds employee conduct that is compatible with the assessor’s independence and the integrity of the conformity assessment process.
- Oversees and runs a system of relationship management for its partners, enabling them to behave openly and disclose their connections to spot potential conflicts of interest.
- FCC offers more value to its clients by recommending assessment teams whose members have voluntarily disclosed their affiliations.
- All data pertaining to the processes of conformity assessment is strictly secret and is kept safe. The customer will be notified in a timely manner if disclosure of any kind of information becomes necessary for any reason.
- Does not validate or verify GHG assertions if there is an unacceptably high risk to its impartiality due to a conflict of interest with the client organization.Does not imply that using consultancy services will make the certification or verification/validation process simpler, faster, easier, or less expensive.
- Does not create, produce, assemble, sell, or handle the upkeep of the evaluated products. Does not create, put into place, run, or handle the upkeep of its clients’ management systems or processes.
- Does not offer compliance evaluation services to organizations in which substantial risks of impartiality are found, such as in labor and/or business interactions, in personal or family relationships, or in professional activities like consulting.
- Does not offer the evaluated customers internal audit services.
Prohibits the verification of greenhouse gas projects that have already been approved by another verification/validation body.
- Does not outsource the modification of the certification, the GHG verification/validation processes, or the issue of the attestations to any Certification Body or Verification/Valuation Body.
- Does not contract out evaluations to any type of consulting firm, not even management system consulting.
- Regardless of the nature of the relationship, it is deemed unethical activity to fail to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could put FCC in jeopardy.
- Does not advertise, offer, or promote its management systems consulting services. When it comes to labor and/or commercial ties, FCC retains the right to form, maintain, or not form, partnerships with individuals who are not transparent at the time of declaring labor and/or personal contacts that could give rise to conflicts of interest.
